Water definitely always gets inside of all doors past the rubber window
seals, even when new.  The engineers knew this, so they designed those
two things to help with the problem.  The plastic sheeting between the
door panel and the door must be sealed to the door with butyl adhesive
all the way around and at each opening.  Also, the drain holes in the
bottom of the door must not be clogged with dirt, dust, bondo and rust
flakes, so that the water that does get inside can drain out.  That's
all anyone can do to prevent the original hardboard door panels from
warping.  The ABS panels are taking to the next step, so that the other
parts are not as critical.
