I saw a guy almost get impaled with a screw driver getting caught it a belt once, very dangerous!! I found a piece of rubber hose works just as well for sound transfer down the opened tube, plus being flexible it wont get caught and drive back into an eye, etc. I guess the main trick is being extra careful, what ever you use. I actually get better sound transfer placing the end of the screwdriver against the the bone immediately behind my ear. My hearing is pretty funky, so this may or may not be the case for you. Karl Wolz
