6 months ago installed a brand new GOWESTY engine, mechanic also installed brand new spark plug wires. Put 300 miles on vacation and allow a sudden lost one cylinder. Erratic but drove somewhat ok but Gas mileage down to 10 mpg. Finally located a VW mechanic in Newfoundland. He found that the a new spark plug wire died. Fairly common experience with new wires. Had my old set on board so we used that. After that all went well. Hope this helps Dennis Jowell Scotch Hollow Farm
