No "Guess" now, eh? Solar is a good power source but you must be attentive to actually gather it in the necessary amounts... Your other alternative as you suggest is to increase your capacity to store a lot of power so you don't have to be so careful to put a panel in sunshine consistently. A couple of moderate sized panels will keep a normal RV charged up if they're deployed properly. Even full time snowbird RVs have panels that can be tuned to the sun for best output... OR, you can go with more storage batteries and rely on the times you are parked in the sun and the alternator of your vehicle when driving...
