caveat: adding a short duration use load may not adversely affect these circuits but if I recall, the handbrake light connects to the 15 and 50 circuits. On my '81 Westy with NON stock engine, a NON stock ignition relay I installed on the 15 circuit ended up staying energized even when key was turned to ign. off; the engine would keep running until I pull the e-brake. The e-brake light was enough of a load to pull voltage down and allow relay to open. (engine stopped) I guess I'm saying that there's more finite details involved than meets the eye. This likely varies depending on model year. But....

If I'm not mistaken, all Vanagons came with a seat belt buzzer or that crazy chime. Most people disarm this feature. With the caveat in mind, I would think it a simple matter to piggy back this buzzer to the e-brake switch wire which runs to the fuse panel. Like run a positive wire from 15 to buzzer relay and piggybacked wire from e-brake ground wire (frame negative) to other post of relay. Key on, e-brake on, ground is switched on to buzzer. I would think it's possible to leave the buzzer in the stock position and simply connect the new added ground wire from the e-brake wire.

A lot of text for a "simple" thing?

Neil.
