I have been able to blink out the codes from different 022D ECUs I have seen many of the Digifant I codes over the years. Often they have a collection of codes stored. I think they can store up to five codes. The Digifant I link below matches the 022D ECU as far as I know. http://www.a2resource.com/electrical/codes/digifant1.html If you are able to blink out a different code, then most likely it will be in this list: http://www.a2resource.com/electrical/codes/allcodes.html IMHO, these codes are of limited use. To make these codes useful at all, you have to be able to clear the codes. If you hook up a light like the 88-89 wiring diagram in the Bentley manual shows, you can clear the codes by grounding the pin signal pin to the ECU when you turn on the key. But you have to replicate the 88-89 wiring, including the "special" 5-pin relay in the engine compartment. By the way, if you ground the wrong pin, you can fry your ECU. Not worth the trouble, unless you are you are compelled to understand the nuances of Vanagon behavior.
