That's pretty much it David! I reckon i'm going to paint it white, and not be too eccentric. The LPG tank is a part that interacts with *outsiders.* Authorities, or even random guys who operate LPG fillers can claim the Right to NOT LIKE IT and refuse to fill it or let me drive through a tunnel or board a ferry (who knows) My van is unusual. It would never work out as factory-like restoration. The back bumper is made of redwood. I have art hanging in it. It's a subaru conversion to an aircooled van! Weird grill. I'm not going for OEM. As a piece I want it to be highly modified, hacked, regionalized, Americanized, 1960's spiritized, Silicon Valley Digitized. Survivor. Wanderer. Free spirit. Hence the polished steel LPG tank. Recalls (stories I've heard) of sailors in WWII embroidering tattoos onto the insides of their shirts - unseen by officers. (I'd like to embroider art onto my pop-up tent! How cool would that be ? A narrative tapestry) On Tue, Nov 4, 2014 at 10:29 AM, <mcneely4@cox.net> wrote: > > ---- Vincent Dow <ianvincentdow@GMAIL.COM> wrote: > > I'm going to paint it white today, then go look for an RV center to sell > me > > a new valve and 80% (is that right?) regulator. > > > > It's perhaps stupid to try and explain why I wanted to keep the tank > shiny > > steel.
