I can tell you that there are heaters that fit in place of the oil dip stick, and are supposed to be "universal." Maybe there are a few different sizes. If they work at all (a big if, in my book) they should work for air cooled. There is always the old incandescent light bulb, my fathers favorite approach. He would use a drop light, and drape on old army blanket over it and the engine. Of course, as you know, regular block heaters that fit in the coolant system simply can't work for the air cooled.
