Any possibility 1982 Westy seats can be fitted into 1976 Westy without modifying > anything?

As I recall, 1976 was a split year. Later '76's used the same seat tracks as the Vanagon but earlier ones did not. I do not know when it changed.

i second what ron said.. heres a easy way to tell.. if your '76 westy's passenger seat slides like the drivers one and has a little lever at the side then its a good bet. i had a 75 westy and the passenger seat was like the earlier 70's buses. every '76-'79 ive ever seen with the swival base on the pass side has had the vanagon style tracks. i put vanagon GL tan velour capt chairs with armrests in my old '78 westy... HUGE improvement!! added vanagon retracting seatbelts too. i miss that bus.

back to the OP's question - why would u want to use '82 westy seats???? they have no armrests and are just about as uncomfortable as the bus ones!! if your gonna do the swap, then use some capt. chairs from a later vanagon GL.. they fit awesome, just remove the armrest pads from the doorpanels.
