I had a Westfalia shipped from Florida to NC last February.  Cost me $450.
The van ran so I can't speak for that. It was an open air, tractor trailer
type truck. Everybody suggested that I get an enclosed trailer but I
figured that the first thing I was going to do was fix it up and take a
road trip in it so what's so bad about an open air trailer.  It was a
little annoying to deal with the company (all states car transport), but
for $450 I can't really complain too much. That seemed like a reasonable
price. I got on some national dispatch list and had tons of people emailing
and calling me wanting to ship my van. Settled on All States Car Transport.
The annoying part was that they sort of implied that they would be able to
do it sooner than it actually ended up getting done. Seemed like they led
me on a bit about how prompt they would be and instead of a week it was
more like 3 or more. Annoying? Yes. Good price? Also Yes.  So, all in all I
would do it again.

Oh yea, there was one more thing that was less than ideal. I'm in western
NC, Asheville. The company ended up sending the van to Charlotte because
Asheville wasn't on their way to anywhere, so I ended up having to have my
dad use his AAA to tow it the rest of the way.   So I would use this
company again but I would anticipate some BS along the way. My guess is
that if you're looking for a bargain price, you'll find similar service
with a lot of them.
