Very good choice of tires Dave (imho) for this trip in particular and continued winter driving around Spokane. Spokane winters are a throw of the dice. Dry & cold, snowy, rain-sleet, ice storms; occasionally. Usually, mostly sunny and dry..:-)

Passing up a great Winter trip through the eastern slope of the rocky mountains via automobile? Flying around a major holiday can be challenging… I'd prefer to drive…:-) Think of the views and vistas this trip will offer. The Stellar views at sunrise and sunset. The stops for meals and sleeps. There is no rush or hard date for this trip (I assume), give or take 3-4 days more or less.

Study the long term forecasts, planning a departure date accordingly. If the forecast fails to show up and a storm hits with a vengeance along the way. Take a snow day and hunker down in the nearest town and do the tourist thing.

I've had some wonderful trips that were interrupted by a blizzard or an ice storm. My best decisions were: I stopped before things got out of control. Spent a night or two in unplanned places and took advantage of the weather.

I wish you good travel to your new home at Spokane..
