It really does work. I've used it now on 3 different Vanagons, all with completely dead batteries. Hook up the leads and crank. Worked every time. The only caveat is that you shouldn't crank for more than ~5 seconds at a time as the leads will get too hot and eventually blow the inline fuse. It's not a jumper battery for cars with running issues. Not a good choice for troubleshooting. Apparently, they're quite popular with the buyers at the dealer auctions... Cheers, Jeff
