I'm a diesel guy, and that behavior drives me crazy. My neighbor's dad
will stop by and idle his Dodge Cummins for long stretches of time...for no
reason. I'm sure there was a rationale for this stuff years ago, but it's
pointless on modern diesels. I fire up my diesels, and immediately drive
them like I stole 'em. Idling is the devil's dirty work
