I have the shield. It must help 'cause my van is still running after 30yrs, Not as bad, fluid above electrical panel, as a Porsche 928. These have the main heat exchanger for the climate control right above the "Power Center"...the main panel with over 80 fuses and relays and thousands of small fiddley connections, all of which are for complex and interconnecting circuits that make the vehicle go. ANY coolant leaks there WILL drip down onto the Power Center....often causing totally baffling electrical glitches. Probably one reason why you can buy a used 928, Porsche's flagship Supercar from that era.... cheaper than a Waterboxer Westie now....Very few shops will accept any Porsche 928 for repairs....even Por$che dealer$ won't touch em....
