What about the lights behind the clock and the warning lights? Not the warning indicators but the legends. Also is the light for the heater levers working? This lights that are controlled by the dimmer are on a separate fuse, usually an add on above the fuse panel. Common failures are the bulbs, contact with the bulbs sockets, the foil, the connector for the instrument cluster, and the dimmer in the headlight switch itself. Get the Bentley and a meter and just follow the gray/blue (I think) wire path.

Hi all,

about a week a go I lost the use of the two lights which illuminate the speedometer and tachometer from the top of the dash-board - all other dash lights work including the "bright headlight switch".

At first the lights went out on an intermittent basis - they would go out but then after a few minutes would come back on. They now don't come back on even after moving some of the connections around to see if there is a bad connection.

Any thoughts on how to diagnose this - I don't think it should be too difficult to trouble shoot (maybe so). In terms of fuses, I believe it is fuse 3 - which is good. It is a 1986 Digifant - Syncro Westy...I can't seem to find my Bentley which sort of sucks at the moment.

Thanks,

Bruce
