even on the same year the springs could be different..

here's a head scratching example. I had an '85 weekender (pop top, no kitchen) with the rear that sags badly very ugly looking - and now I have an '85 GL sunroof and the rear doesn't sag at all - the only difference between the 2 vans is the pop top - but the weight of the pop top is spread on whole length of the van so it's not it. The only thing I can think of is the springs are different... different brand, different springs tension...
