The engine has worked well for all most everyone for millions and millions of miles, it does the job & has since it's beginning. You can pick & poke but it is still is doing the job. I saw 2 vanagons this afternoon on WA3, heading south almost into Shelton. I'll bet they were both zipping along with the 2.1.

That said I've done several conversions and the vanagon with the Subaru 2.2 & it's 130hp drives like it should have been there all along and it looks GOOD in the engine compartment!
