The fan on my lower mileage '88 is starting to chirp in colder weather. I see a dash job coming up. Am now thinking it may be worth cleaning, inspecting and lubing the fan motor if it's original.

What markings would one see on an OEM fan?

Is it as simple as "Made in Germany" ?

Several years ago I installed what I assume was a new non OEM fan into my '81. The old fan still worked and may be OEM. The new fan works fine but on high speed is somewhat noisier than the fan in my '88.

I'll dig up my old '81 fan and post a pic of it if that helps.

Neil.
