One more thing to consider...The sandwich oil cooler adapter plate you installed to get a connection to your VDO gauge....I found one of those came to me out of the package with somewhat restricted oil passages...the castings of the sandwich plate had not been properly cleaned up when it was taken from the molds and there was a partially restricted area in the plate itself. Since your motor was indicating low OP before you added the plate and gauge, this is probably not the main issue, but when you do take the motor to GO Westie for inspection and diagnosing you should ask them to check the sandwich plate adapter when they are inside....
