I like all the rear engine vans. I had a Baywindow before getting a Vanagon. The Bay was simple and fun. Cruising California Hwy 1 in a Bay often got us a rock star reception from people along the way. In my opinion the Vanagon is slightly less cool but still has enough "hippy van" DNA to make it fun. I really enjoy the better power, comfort and handling that the Vanagon offers. Out on California's Interstate 5, fast lane traffic often moves at 85mph or higher. Taking the slow lane at 70mph in the Vanagon feels a lot safer than 55mph in the Bay. But to each his own. Let's keep them all running!
