Yes, it’s too much for me. Price for the GW 2.2 is $4295, core is $1000, (maybe you get half back if you are lucky), and shipping is $300 to $1000, times two for shipping back the core. I figure $1000 to Vermont, and then there is the install charge, at least $300 to $500. Plus the cost of his mechanic fixing the leak. Easily $6k, probably more like $7k. Shipping back to GW is $2k round trip, plus R&R. At this point you are so far into it you just have to keep going and hope it gets fixed, or just sell the van and move on.

Like I said, it’s a sad situation, and why so many of us convert to something other than the WBX.

I figure you are into this engine at least $6000 with the shipping, partial core refund, and installation, and GW builds the warranty into the $4295 price.

Whoa!!! That is a lot for a rebuilt motor.
