Sorry for the momentary hijacking of this, but I recently swapped the front
shift lever bushing thinking it was the reason for my bad shifting. I have
discovered the ears on the selector rod also messed up and the rear gear
shift lever ball also in distress.

Has anyone just replace the lever ball only? What did you use to secure it
to the metal lever?
It is cheaper.
