I have Vanagon windshields, and all of the other glass replaced and installed all the time. Even more now that we have been moving from just a repair shop and parts store to a full fledged restoration one stop shop (see Van-Again facebook page if you are interested in seeing all of the projects we have been doing). I have found that really installing the windshield is more than half the battle. I could do it myself but I risk cracking the windshield, etc which no one would cover if that happened. But if I get a local glass shop to order the glass for me, usually it is in stock the next day, and they come to my place and knock it out in about 30 minutes. You can also request a new windshield seal along with it and they have been decent as well. I have used Safelite and they are usually available almost anywhere in the USA. Or you can do a google search for Auto Glass and it will bring up a site where you can ask for a quote and all of the local glass shops in your area will email you a quote within an hour or so.

You have to think about what you want. I want a windshield, I want it installed properly so it doesn't leak, and I want someone I can call in case I need something else done. In order to get all of these things done properly I have found having a relationship with a good local shop that is skilled is the best way to accomplish this. My motto is always, "Leave it to the experts." If you have a choice I think that is the best way to go.
