My drivers' side battery box is about 12.5" x 7" x 7". The walls are not flat, as there is a protrusion for capturing the battery on the rear wall. Also, there is a very slight taper to the walls. If the target battery is smaller than these dimensions, it'll drop in. However, taller batteries may work with modifications to the lid. The Samba has extensive posts on this exact issue.... Jon
