The system only needs to hold pressure long enough to keep the fuel from boiling as the engine heat makes it into the fuel lines. Leaking down is usually caused by a leaking injector or a bad check valve in the pump. The injector thing often shows up as hard hot starting, uneven engine operation and if real bad cylinder wash down causing excess wear or if real bad hydraulically locking up a cylinder. If you're good for 10 minutes you have no worries about that. Now what is wrong that you are even checking this?

Hi,

May I ask if anyone knows how long the fuel rail should hold pressure and what the minimum pressure is after the engine is turned off. I have seen a pressure value of 29-36 psi after 10 minutes quoted in an archive thread from 2001 but have been unable to find in my manuals. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Regards,
