Yeah, that’s an issue! That old ’84 went 220k with one leaking head replacement by the dealer under warranty at 45k, and one water pump.

I ran Dexcool for 10 years (one flush and fill) in my ’84 with no problems, and G-05 is better. Dexcool cause problems with some GM engines apparently.

Use the overpriced VW purple long life if you prefer, or change the short life coolant every two years. I’m getting too old for that drill that often, even with the Libby bong.
