Mark,

I hope you will consider starting a blog. Things just get lost in the undisciplined vastness and immediacy of Facebook, and you can post text and photos easily as you work on this project on your personal blog. Many of us would follow it, and you'll document the project for posterity.

Set up a free blog at www.wordpress.com today, start uploading photos, and post the link here. You can add or expand text as time allows. Surely you have seen Alistair's blog: http://shufti.wordpress.com/about/

Stuart

The color is a PPG color, Bright Regatta Blue Metallic, not a normal VW color, I don't think. I posted a pic on the FB Vanagon Owners site, but don't have a picture sharing account anywhere yet.

I'm hoping that the oil light was either the fact that the engine was 2/3 of a quart low, which I couldn't tell on the road as it was getting dark and I didn't have a flashlight on me, or the fact that not all the electrical stuff was hooked up, as in headlights, turn signals, and such. We'll soon see.
