Well, my Vanagon's moments of inertia seem like an eternity. All kidding aside, loose objects can cause serious injury or damage. Long ago, a pair of vice grips forgotten in a crevice of a car trunk bounced around on rough and twisty road. The result was a number of dings in the quarter panels. The force generated would have hurt a person, and that was just from conering and bumps.
