I just installed a set of springs from Syncro.org on an 82 Diesel. Perfect fit and lift front/rear. I also used the Bilstien shocks. These have become favorite for me on the 2wd. You need to avoid the urge to go too tall as the front suspension does not do well over time. The radius rods need to work in a certain angle range or caster angle settings will suffer. I suggest that you get the exhaust corrected to eliminate that as a ground clearance issue.

Last year I was rear ended turning into my drive way, the collision destroyed my exhaust system and my engine mounting bars motor mounts ect. When I got the van back from the shop the new exhaust pipe before the cat and muffler now is siting about 6" off the ground at the rear of the engine. This engine is a in-line 4 Tiico and it is running really well. Instead of sweeping the pipes straight back with two bends there is a loop in one pipe bends down goes and then goes to the cat. this loop is the one that is close to the ground. Has anyone installed the high lift Go Westy Springs? How much lift did you get? What about spacers on the rear springs? Any experience? Last but not least what shocks would recommend? Thanks for you time, Bill Witz 84 Westy 2 wheel drive |
