typo allert!!!

On sale at Van Cafe is a a heater core and valve and ring for less then $120.00. Is good compared to $94.00 I payed just for the core at bus Depot or 68 just for the valve at Van cafe. Sorry for the high number I miss typed! $1,200.00 price would mean no rear heater fix for me!

When I got the core and the O ring I didn’t put anteing on the ring. i just removed the old one and pushed in the new one. it seems a perfect fit though it didn’t stick out at all just exactly flat with the plastic valve part it fits into. It is clamped together by two bolts. I would be happy to add some kind of gasket sealer but I don’t want to get anything bad into the coolant.

If I’m going to take it apart again. spill more coolant, worry about the air, and put back together, I’d really like a shot of solving the drip.

And, Eric L. thanks for the cool dye suggestion but, remember, this is “blind Eric” from West river, of the camping event with 100 Eric’s. The dye trick ain’t going to work for me! Funny thing is that it is a very small . .I can feel it but when i asked a friend to “look for a leak she could barely see it. so I suspect a different person with sight might miss it and never realize there was a slight coolant ooze. there. But, now that I know it is there I check it every few days and that drop of coolant drives me nuts!

I drained mine a while ago and will remove it soon replacing it with a Webasto heater, though I have heard folks recommend a few others as well. > > Might be cheaper as well. > > Good luck sir.
