oil cooler seal is common problem. part # 038 117 070a   easy to change, remove the oil filter, remove the stand pipe nut.  remove the stand pipe(either double nut it or use a big ez out)  lower cooler just enough to remove o ring seal.  reverse to install.  This way you don't have to mess with the coolant lines  later  mark d

Hello All!
Quick question, I'm traveling cross country and I'm in the cold of South Dakota, 
the last 2 days the temps have dropped below freezing. 
I noticed some oil that leaked out between the engine and the oil cooler, not 
much, I checked levels and it's fine. 
Next day it was warmer and less oil leaked out. 
I'm thinking the seal shrunk in the extreme temps, it was -10 below with a -30 
wind chill. 
Once I get going and warmed up, there is no leakage that I can see and oil level 
is fine. 
Is this something I need to replace asap? Or just keep checking it?
I am heading to California and everyday I'm in warmer climates.
