I like gas heaters, too. I've had one for 33 years in my '81 Vanagon and have run it hundreds of hours--at all altitudes. BA6. Mr Bus was my driver and ski car for years, so many times I have come back and fired it up with the self timer at 10,500' and up. Changing out of ski gear in a warm van is one of life's perks!

Regarding propane and running out, my concern was not my Propex but my fridge. Running out while camping and having everything get warm bothered me more. My solution, which is not very difficult, was a second tank:http://jones.colorado.edu/VW/SecondPropaneTank.html I use one tank until empty and then switch and refill at my convience. I always know I have a full spare tank. Plus it is "nicer" when refilling to know it will take a full fill amount.

I have used my propex at elevations up to 12,900'--last summer in the La Garita Mtns: https://picasaweb.google.com/RAJones1942/MedanoPass?authkey=Gv1sRgCKjcosbjjZnZmAE#6032793670099265554

I camped there once a few years ago and had an overnight blizzard. Thank you, Karl, for Propex!

You have the Webasto and I'm sure you will keep warm! Enjoy!

Richard
