I think like all car companies the bottom line is to sell more cars.
Given the cult-like
following that the VW bus has/had I believe that VW does not want to pursue
any
vehicle that would take away or detract from the bottom line. I think the
service given
to the Vanagon and the Eurovan are good evidence of how well the vehicle
will receive.
This is true of all car makes. For the most part, cars are throw-away and
that's just how
the industry wants it. For if not, they lose profit. The only reason
they or any other company
brings back a retro car is for publicity only and has nothing to do with
what we the customers
want....
