Yes.

No. Even if you have limited mechanical experience, can't think of any real reason not to attempt disassembly. The O ring seal between intake plenum and throttle body could be re-used and is not pricey. Actually, if switch parts are seized, the bigger risk may be mangling that hex head adjuster when trying to adjust it, part still mounted. The wall on that part adjuster head is thin.

Another point of wear can be at the internal pivot point of switch itself. A fellow on thesamba.com managed a repair to that using epoxy. This took out the play making the switch more reliable. I think previous suggestions of a new part make more sense.
