Subject: 99 Wiper Relay Blows #16 "Term 58" Fuse?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8

Hi all. This is for a 1988 Westy. It may use 1987 wiring in some cases.

Wipers and dash lights were working fine. After swapping in a 99 relay, wipers still worked and were programmable but "Term 58 Fuse 10 A" blew.

A stereo wiring fault (see below) may have caused this fuse to blow but has anyone else had this fuse blow after swapping in a 99 relay?

I moved the aftermarket stereo in-out of dash the same day fuse blew. IIRC, the PO hacked up some of the wiring to the cigarette lighter light circuit to accommodate either the stereo or aftermarket power door lock remote system. The cig socket light is connected to the #16 fuse.

The OEM power door lock system has a fault but I removed the fuse for that circuit(s) and switched off the aftermarket PDL remote system. (I installed a "kill" switch for that as it draws power all the time). I doubt the PDL's are related to any of this.

Thanks,

Neil.
