I Am getting a noise. Kind of a knock, knock, knock, noise when I take a sharp right hand turn. Also, where are you telling me to look to check the flanged hub? Is that on the inboard side? Can I check that with the wheel on?

Thanks;

Dave B.

As long as the wiggle is not where the flanged hub is on the shaft all is probably good. If there is no noise or rumble your are good. When that bearing fails it will let you know. With some occasional greasing they seem to be for 150 to 200K.

Hi All;

Would someone please remind me what it means when one holds a rear tire at the 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock position and gets wiggle/movement/play in and out. While we are at it, how much movement should one get when one turns the axel while the Vanagon is in gear (engine not running)?

Thanks;

Dave B.
