I myself would not add a toggle to just the detector... That might be
something that can be toggled off and forgotten about even while the van is
in use. Too easy to turn off.

If you're looking to turn off all aux battery power while van is in storage
etc you can always add a Blue Sea Battery Switch. Simply an On/Off for the
entire aux battery system. Not just the detector.

Just a thought

I have 2 of the switches under my drivers seat. One for the Main Battery
and one for the Aux Battery System. Good o note that my swivel base has
been removed under this seat.
