I want to echo that - look especially for DC/DC convertors for your laptops, but nearly everything you'd want to do in the van with electricity can be powered by 12V DC - we have DC chargers for our phones and cameras as well as the laptops, Nintendo (the 11 year olds, not mine), DVD player and so on.
