Baloney. There is very little difference between the 2 systems compared to all they have in common. I guess black is darker than navy blue but not by much. One Digifant van breaks your heart and now they are all #@&**. Lots of other vehicles have a very similar separate ICU driving a very similar idle control valve. Volvo, Mercedes, BMW to name a few and none of those engines are WBX limped into the future. It is true that the ICUs fail though the later Vanagon version much less so. I know I replaced several in my families BMW cars over the years.
