The webasto does make some noise on the exterior of the van while running. I have a muffle on the exhaust and even a silencer on the intake altough most say the intake silencer is not really needed. The muffler makes a big difference.

The noise it makes is a bit of a low pitch drone. I'll try to get a youtube video posted of the noise both outside and inside.

All in all I love the heater. It's nowhere near as annoying as a generator but it does make noise.
