Yes running the fridge on electric does add heat to the exhaust stack which helps start the draft which is needed to keep it lighted. Difficulty lighting and keeping it lighted are often signs of a leak somewhere. The combustion chamber needs be sealed at the bottom plate and often over looked is where the chamber meets the exhaust pipe. I have also seen the exhaust pipes rotted out with pin holes and stuff.

Some people find that running the fridge on 120 helps make it easier to light the fridge on propane.

It's my understanding that running the fridge on 120 will cause air to rise up the exhaust which in turn pulls fresh air into the intake. This cycle of fresh air can help the flame stay lit while holding the yellow button down.
