Neil, that was my first thought actually. Alan has replaced the fuel filter and when he did so he said some rusty looking fuel came out of it... However, the fuel pressure at the testing nipple checks out. clean gas is squirting out of all injectors in a nice conical pattern.

Regarding the o2 sensor, it currently doesn't have one installed. However, it was at one time running fine without it installed... Alan is going to weld in a bung and put a new one in this weekend to eliminate that possibility.

Dennis: sorry, but what does it mean to 'cycle the ignition on the fly'? Also you make an interesting comment about the throttle switch. Could a bad throttle switch be the culprit here? never thought a bad switch would case this bad of issues, but what do I know.

John, We have already swapped the coil (as well as all ignition components) and the ECU with known working ones. No dice.

One other piece of information: as its dying cylinder 1 will misfire if throttle is applied. It seems to only and always be cylinder 1. It also seems to be running rich.
