The hooks are also wider at the bottom than the hooks supplied by TracRac, to allow spreading the grip or force. To help prevent damaging the rain gutters.

Anyone who buys a restored Vanagon, should be careful how they treat their gutters.

The hooks supplied by TracRac for their TracVan Racks will not work on a tin-top.
