Hello Stuart, the silicone will not penetrate very well. Here is an old gas station lube rack trick you might have better luck with. Get about a 1/4 cup (don't worry about the proportions to much) of parts washer solvent-thinner-kerosene (NO GAS), and mix it with a cup ATF, put it a spray bottle and go to town, just flood it! The thinner will penetrate through out all the nooks and crevasse carrying the ATF with it. When the thinner evaporates, it leaves the ATF to lube. Back a 100 years or so this was SOP on cars and trucks of the 50's & 60's with bushings and no grease fittings. Of course you will need to replace the bushings at some point, this might stop the noise till then.

good luck

Howard

I've sprayed silicone once with no effect, so I'm going to keep at it a few more times!

Stuart
