The refrigerator in my 1991 Volkswagen Vanagon GL Campmobile began some malfunctions last year, and given all that's been going on I have never gotten around to doing anything about it. Though it had never been hard to light, it became so, at least sometimes. It doesn't always stay lit, especially if I have driven on a rough road before lighting it. It may light, but then go out after a time. There is plenty of propane. The valve is open. I open the drain before attempting to light it, and close it once the refrigerator is lit. It does not cool effectively on 12V power, though that is not a new phenomenon. I do not really have a good place to work right now, and am not inclined to pull the refrigerator out myself. Does anyone know of someone in the Spokane, Washington area who might work on one of these? If so, you can email me privately with the information. Thanks, Dave McNeely |
