If the buzzer is consistently coming on after an extended drive you most likely have an oil pressure problem or a bad, incorrect sensor. If a wiring problem it would happen regardless of engine temperature. Did the problem begin after the oil change or was that the reason you decided to change it now? If this is after the oil change carefully check the oil level. Over filling the crankcase can cause this. The excess oil level causes the oil to get churned, gets hot and aerated, and will cause decreased oil pressure. At low speeds the problem is masked after resetting the engine as the higher pressure switch is only looked at over 2,000 rpm.

Hi all,

My oil buzzer comes on after a 30 minutes or so of hiway usage.

I've changed the oil, using 20-50 Castrol GTX, and am wondering if the motor's got issues, or the oil buzzer system does.

If I turn engine off, and then on again, it'll stay off for a little while... other times, it'll just buzz for a second or two, then turn itself off. It gets better at slower speeds.

Any thoughts?

Regards, Steve
