Believe me, people often pay close to those prices ($15k-$25k, not the ridiculous ones), and you have to be really lucky to find one around here at a lower price.
We missed out on one by about 30 minutes because the CL alert was too slow. It was a '91 one owner with 75k for $9000. An old guy in a small town who just wasn't using it, and had no idea what it was worth. We offered $12,000, but he wanted to honor the first respondent, who was two hours away. We hoped he wouldn't show, but he's a happy camper now!
A collector auction is the wrong place to sell that van, it's a driver, not a collector car. Seller paid 8% to BJ, and the buyer paid them 10%. So, the seller netted $7084, and the buyer paid $8470. Pathetic. I'll be checking GW and PTH for this van.
