The Vanagon List quite literally changed my life. The Bus Depot got its
start here on the List.  At that time there were no online retailers
specializing in Bus and Vanagon parts (and in fact only a few selling any
auto parts at all), so these were uncharted waters and starting the Depot
was far from a safe bet. The list members at the time - some of whom are
still here - gave me overwhelming encouragement and support, and were a
large factor in my decision to risk everything, quit my "real job," and
devote full time to my hobby.  My life has never been the same since. That
is why I've always offered a 5% discount to Vanagon List members.  It is
also why I will be a loyal Vanagon List member until either it dies or I do,
even if I am the last one on it.  Conversely, the Vanagon List can take
credit for kickstarting what is now a thriving online Bus/Vanagon parts
marketplace with numerous participants.
