My shop is 25x40 with 12ft ceiling, and it's not nearly big enough! If you plan to install a hoist, better go with 14ft ceilings. I can't raise the van all the way up work underneath it. Normal cars is OK though. Most hoists need min. 145 inches too....found that out and had to modify mine slightly. You also need 6 inches of concrete to install the lags. I have room for 2 cars (10x10 door) and one side has a mezzanine for storage. The LT31 *just* clears the door to get inside, but I can't even lift it up to remove the wheels. Compressor is great to have - build a room around it for noise. I'm going to move mine into the washroom to prevent visitors from stinking up the place! :) Oh yes- running water is great for cleanup too. My wife enjoys the fact I can de-grease before touching anything inside the house. Jason
