a dyno, for sure.. A friend built a shop and included a roller dyno, it
wasn't that much extra work. With that, everything you do on any vehicle
can be quantified.....It is surprising what the numbers really are,
sometimes....but they do not lie....
Tuning with a dyno is quick, also...You can change some mapping function
and see the results in real world torque the very next dyno run.....My old
Porsche V8 motor got a brand new custom intake and a Motec engine managment
system...Our first dyno run was just 440hp but within about 45 minutes,
some keyboard time on a lap top and a few passes on the dyno..we got to
575hp with little trouble... Also a lift. that makes working on the
suspension almost pleasant..
